Wow! What an absolutely fantastic weekend. We were able to get on the road by 5:45. The kids were great. It didnt' take as long to get there as we anticipated so by 7:15 we were all down at the pool. We spent a good 90 minutes there. The kids loved it. We grabbed Kids Meals on the way in so they had a late night supper before bed.
Saturday we spent the morning at the hockey games. The boys had 2 games with only 1 hour inbetween games. They were exhausted when they were done but somehow managed to find the reserve energy supply to have pizza and play in the play room. Then back to the hotel and swimming most of the evening. The kids were so tired that they started dropping like flies at 7:30. By 9 they were all sleeping and my friend and I were able to sit back and relax and visit.
We had a good BS session. We talked about B, and her ex husband and his new psycho wife. Well she really is psycho. I'll have to give you a rundown on her in a later post. Needless to say it was nice to be able to talk about things and not get upset or worked up about it. We had a great time.
Sunday we got up and went swimming before we had to check out and the boys' last game. We took a short break to have something to eat then swam for a bit more. Then we went to the last game. The kids all got participation medals and as it's what they call the termite division they don't keep track of scores. Everyone got to skate and they all had fun.
Some parents though. Sheesh. I hope if my girls are ever in any sports that I don't get all goofy like some of them were at the tournament. I mean the kids were all of maybe 7 years old tops. And this one mother...I wanted to throttle her. She was standing right next to the plexi glass banging on it and yelling at her poor kid to "GO GET THE PUCK!!! COME ON GET IT!!!" I hate to think of the pressure this poor kid receives.
I will say though that even my fears that we would have issues with the four kids they were almost angels. Almost I say cause we did have to have one minor fight over who got to play with the safe in the room pretending it was a cash register. But otherwise they got along well. My little M was the cutest though. She was the boys' cheerleader swishing her hips back and forth and whispering their names.
So that was my weekend. I'm well rested and relaxed and ready to face the week.
